2023 Mitsubishi Outlander
If you're looking for a compact, three-row SUV, you'll have plenty of options to explore. To find the right fit for you, you'll need to consider the vehicle's performance, interior features, and more. While plenty of models have a host of exciting features, there's nothing that offers an experience quite like the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander. Learn all about this new SUV and discover whether or not it's right for you.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new Outlander comes in four distinct trim levels, and they all have special exterior features to offer. It all begins with the base-level ES model, which already features quite a few enticing exterior add-ons like automatic on/off headlights and LED daytime running lights. Plus, it's outfitted with 18-inch alloy wheels. If you want to upgrade, the SE offers LED fog lights and 20-inch alloy wheels.
With the SEL trim, you'll find yourself with several more luxurious features inside, but the exterior still boasts impressive additions like a panoramic sunroof. The final trim is the SEL 40th Anniversary, which is a special trim celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Outlander model. With this, you get a Black Diamond roof, a power panoramic sunroof, and black roof pillars.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the Outlander, you'll find a singular engine no matter which version of this SUV you opt for. Fortunately, you'll have all the engine you'll need with this powerful and reliable 2.5-liter four-cylinder design. It offers 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, and it comes paired with an automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you can upgrade to all-wheel drive if you prefer, though the highest trim offers AWD standard.
Performance
When you're behind the wheel of the Outlander, you'll likely notice just how responsive and agile it is despite its size as a three-row SUV. The brakes are also quite impressive, being able to stop from a 70-mile-per-hour speed in just 172 feet. The automatic transmission also utilizes a continuously variable transmission setup, so operation is smooth whether you're in the city or on the highway.
Interior
Inside the Outlander, you can enjoy a spacious and advanced interior with plenty of integrated technological features. The infotainment touchscreen is 8 inches standard, though you can upgrade that to 9 inches if you like. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard on all models. Wireless device charging and a 10-speaker Bose audio system are optional upgrades. The dimensions are also quite generous, with 79.7 cubic feet of cargo space with all the rear seats folded down and 33.5 cubic feet with just the third row down.
Safety Features
The Outlander's safety features are just as impressive as the rest of its integrated technology and include available systems such as blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. You can even opt for adaptive cruise control that has its own semi-autonomous driving mode available. Of course, classic favorites like lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist are available too.
