2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Adventure-ready, family-friendly, and stylish — what more could you want in an SUV? Well, we think it’d be great to have multiple versions to choose from. The Outlander is available in two models, and each has something different to offer, depending on your needs. So which one will you choose, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander or the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport? Compare these four features to decide for yourself.

Performance

Both the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander represent adventure but in various ways. The Outlander comes with a gas-powered four-cylinder engine that produces up to 166 horsepower and gets up to 24 mpg city. The Outlander Sport gets up to 23 mpg on the highway and produces up to 148 horsepower. You can pair each with an intuitive all-wheel-drive system that will help get you through a variety of road conditions.

The Outlander has the option to add the available Towing Package, while the Outlander Sport does not. If you plan to haul a trailer or camper, that might make the decision for you. The Towing Package comes with a tow hitch and a trailer tow wire harness.

Interior Features

The Outlander and the Outlander Sport don’t have many major differences on the inside. The main interior difference is that the Outlander can seat seven while the Outlander Sport seats five. The Outlander also boasts more cargo room than the Sport. The base trim Outlander comes with dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats. On the base Outlander Sport, you get automatic climate control and fabric seating surfaces. Both are compatible with technology features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity for easy access to your music, navigation, and contacts.

Exterior

Both Outlander options come with stylish, modern exteriors. On the base model Outlander, you’ll find halogen headlights, rear privacy glass, and chrome grille accents. The Outlander Sport base trim comes with LED lighting, heated body-color side mirrors, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The Outlander is also larger than the Sport, measuring 12.9 inches longer and 2.5 inches taller.

Safety Options

The Mitsubishi Outlanders have subtle differences between their standard safety options. Only the Outlander comes with an added standard electric parking brake with auto hold. They both come with active stability control, hill start assist, and an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution. Both are available with similar warranties.

The Bottom Line

The decision to go with the Outlander or the Outlander Sport is ultimately up to you. How many passengers do you usually carry? Do you want a larger SUV or a smaller, more compact one that still comes with most of the bells and whistles? Ask yourself these questions before deciding.

If you want to check out either or both of these great Outlanders, visit us at Rath Mitsubishi. One of our sales team members will be able to answer any questions you might have. We can also set you up for a test drive. Hope to see you soon!
