Local, regional, and professional artists submit their artwork to show at the ACO’s exhibitions throughout the year, but the one highlight is its 5×5 Soiree and Auction. Each year in October more than 500 artists draw, paint, or sculpt a canvas that measures 5×5 inches. The completed artwork is showcased and auctioned at the annual one-night Soiree. Hors d’oeuvres, gourmet coffee, and dessert are available, and funds raised from the event benefit the center.

Built during the 1920s, Teatro Scarpino was originally part of the old Fayetteville Ice House complex on North West Avenue. Now, this truly is “bliss”! Bliss Cupcake Café opened to rave reviews in 2009. Each day, you’ll find up to a dozen different cupcake flavors at Bliss, all baked from scratch. Local favorites include Blackberry Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Milkshake, and Chocolate Chip Pancake. The bakers also whip up cookies, edible cookie dough, frosting “shots,” cake balls, and candied pretzels.
